Del Salereo (Services To Salsa 2009)

We decided to award Del Salereo a 'Services To Salsa' award, for his sheer bl**dy mindedness in the pursuit of a national UK Salsa and Latin Music mainstream radio station.

After years of hard work, he's achieved the first step of a regular weekly show on Solar Radio, broadcast every Monday evening between 6pm and 8pm on the SKY network and online at www.solarradio.com

Now, we believe he just needs the support to take this to the next level and beyond!

Bio;

Del Salereo is a dedicated Salsa DJ.and has managed to take Cuban, Puerto Rican, Columbian, Venezuelan and New York Salsa to a new level in the UK on National British digital airwaves on the SKY network. Never before has there been regular live Salsa music show in the UK dedicted to the Salsa dancing scene on a digital platform.

An experienced club DJ back as far as 1982, Del played 80’s soul up and down the country. Del’s first encounter with radio was back in the days of the early 80’s when land pirate stations such as J.F.M, Kiss Fm, Horizon and Solar were all in the running for licensing.

His DJ presentation skills were styled on 80’s Soul DJ/Presenter James Anthony who presents an 80’s Soul show on Solar radio.  He went on to take DJ radio presenting courses and has now obtained qualified radio broadcasting and TV presenting skills certificates. Del Salereo took up Salsa dancing in 1999 with the Salsoteca dance company at a club called Villa Stefano’s.
